The New Yorker

Back in 2021, The New Yorker’s late art critic Peter Schjeldahl conducted an email interview with Stephen Shore following the release of Stephen’s book “Steel Town” (MACK). We are excited to finally be able to share this interview on the heels of his new publication “Topographies: Aerial Surveys of the American Landscape.” (MACK).

In this compelling conversation, Stephen speaks about his journey as a photographer and the development of an artistic process. “For five decades, Stephen Shore has remade our vision of the country, largely by remaking his own”.
